SynCell2024 INSA Toulouse, France - April 17-19, 2024

The SynCell2024 international conference brings together researchers from all over the world to present the latest research results in bottom-up synthetic biology and the prospects for scientific and technological development. 

The programme will include plenary sessions, parallel sessions and poster sessions.

18 April - There will be no live stream of Stephen Mann's presentation, sorry for the inconvenience.

17 April - Information on how to get to the city tour meeting point and to the restaurant for the gala dinner can be found on the Social event webpage.

Two changes in the programme due to last-minute cancellations:

  • Rahmi Lale will give a talk entitled Leveraging AI for Context-Aware and Predictable DNA Design in Synthetic Biology on Wednesday at 14:20 in the Topic session "Containers and chassis".
  • Matthew Baker will give a talk entitled Guiding lipid bilayer assembly using DNA Nanostructures and Cheap High-Throughput Methods on Thursday at 13:30 in the Topic session "Building blocks".

3 April - The abstract booklet with author index is available here. Abstracts (of accepted poster and oral presentations) are gathered in alphabetic order of the presenting author.

21 March - Programme updated!
We have updated the scientific programme for the three days of the conference with the title and time slot of each speaker. Please note that the programme may be subject to slight changes. See the programme here or the pdf version here

20 March - Unfortunately, J. Craig Venter is no longer able to attend the conference. But we are pleased to announce that John Glass, leader of the JCVI Synthetic Biology Group, and La Jolla, CA Campus Director at the J. Craig Venter Institute, will be joining us to give a presentation. Find out more about John Glass

7 March 2024 - We have already reached the limit of 150 registered people and received more than 130 abstracts! We thus decided to close the registration portal. Important: if you have submitted an abstract but haven't registered yet, please do so as soon as possible by contacting us and we will temporarily re-open it for you. We will consider new registrations on a case by case basis and may add you in a waiting list in case of cancellation.

30 November 2023 - Registration for SynCell2024 is now open! To register and submit an abstract, you must first create an account (this is possible by clicking on "Login" in the top-right corner, then select "Create account"), after which you can register on the “Registration” page and submit your abstract on the "Abstract submission" page (which will have appeared in the navigation menu).

Please note that registration is limited to 150 participants. Don't wait, register now!
 

7 November 2023 - We are delighted to announce that J. Craig Venter, Geoffrey Otim, and Stephan Mann will be the invited speakers at this year's event!

Guidelines for Oral or Poster presentation

Abstracts:

Abstracts should be 300 words maximum. The deadline for regular abstract submission is 1 March.

Abstracts must be submitted via the conference website by creating an account (top-right corner, select "login" => "Create account"). Then you can submit your abstract on the "Abstract submission" page.

Abstracts not submitted via the website will not be considered by the scientific committee.

 

Poster and oral presentations: 

Abstracts for poster and oral presentations must be submitted by 1 March

Your poster must fit in A0 format: 84.1 cm (width) x 118.9 cm (height).

Adhesives or fasteners for display will be provided by the organisers.

 

Registration conditions

Registration for SynCell2024 is MANDATORY and will be opened until 31 March.

Due to the large number of registrations, we have already reached the registration limit. We have therefore closed registration.
